07' GT strut tower support question

684 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  beargap
I was at a car show this week and several GT'S had one of these across their motors. I like the way they look and want to get one more for looks than actual performance.

My question is, Do i have to take off my plastic motor cover to be able to put this on or do they make them to go over the cover. I do not have an svt which they keep asking.

Any help both with my question and a place to look at some different styles of these supports would be appreciated.

Thanks jcd

If you are talking about the plastic cover that came with the GT appearance package in '07, no, you do not have to remove it. That is at least if you get a brace that fits a 2010. My 2010 has the cover and the brace goes over it.
I have one in my car, it's actually the FRPP off my old 4.0 and it clears my cover perfect. Will try and take a pic later today for you.

Some say "not with use with plastic cover" and others say "for use with plastic cover" and then some say nothing which is what i am most worried about because that is one of the ones i liked the most but i don't want to get it and have to return it.

Thanks

My Steeda was said it would clear but i had to use washers to give it extra clearance
The FRPP brace for the Bullitt will clear the cover with room to spare and the 2008+ GT's even have indentions in the pad under the hood designed to fit that brace. Note, the standard FRPP GT brace does not clear the cover, but I understand the V6 brace does. Go figure.
