i want duels..but that requires professional installing doesn't it?
I bought a Flowmaster American Thunder Axel Back Muffler for My Stang, it was on for less than an Hour, I Hated the Sound, it sounded like a Rice Burner:gringreen I paid over $200 for it new and sold it to a Member on this Forum for $100 Delivered.
If I'd of only bought the True Dual Kit from NTO (newtakeoff.com) first for $299 I'd of saved my self some money and had a WAY Better sounding exhaust with duals:bigthumbsup
NO, you dont need a Professional to Install Duals, if you can use a wrench to tighten a few clamps and use a saw to cut both pipes after the exhaust you can do it, it's so easy even a Cave Man can do it:gringreen
I did mine with the help of a couple of Friends and if I had to do it again I could do it in less than an Hour by Myself. I had the use of a Lift but if you can get some jack stands, a Jack and mabey some ramps you can do it on your back no problem.
For the $299 plus shipping it cost for the True Dual Kit from NTO I'd go that route, the GT Takeoff Mufflers it comes with makes your Stang sound sweet, almost like a V8, Nice Rumble and No Drone. And at WOT it really sounds Good!
I have all that's included with the kit in Pictures in My Members Picture Gallery, check em out. Just click on the Camera under My Avatar Picture and it'll take you to My Members Picture Gallery.
SAVE your Money and Go Duals! And if you have'nt already get yourself a CAI and SCT X3 Tuner Combo from American Muscle, this is by far the FIRST Mod you should get when you buy a V6 Mustang, you wont believe what a Difference it will make, you'll think you have a different Stang, One that has Instant Throttle Response, Fast Hard Shifts and if you have a 93 Octane Race Tune in it you'll be able to burn rubber through all your gears, with an auto.
Hope this Helped:bigthumbsup

Hi I just signed up for this forum, I thought I had been sneaking around long enough. Reading some of the posts on this forum has helped me decide to buy a JLT and SCT tuner combo. I got 87 street and 91 performance and race. I currently run 87 in the car and I want to switch to 91 next time I fill up. Would there be any issues with any of the remaining old gas in the tank mixing with the new gas? I plan on running it as close to empty as possible when I switch to premium. Also will it affect the engine in any negative way to switch to premium after its been running regular 87 for 40000 miles (a 2006 4.0) Sorry about the stupid questions.

PS is the race tune really that much difference now I cant wait until next Wednesday when my combo package arrives!!!!:bounce2:

Very easy install and sounds pretty good I think....Flowmaster has some sound clips and videos on their site. The V6 will never sound like a V8 but will be much improved with a axle back.

I'd run your Stang to as empty as you can then fill it up with 91, drive it mabey for a quarter to a half of a Tank then fill it back up with 91 and then load your 91 Race Tune. That way there's no old 87 Octane in it and you'l also give the 91 a chance to run through everything befor you install your 91 Tune.
Changing Gas wont Hurt anything as long as your Engine is Tuned for it. Also it's fine to run your 87 Octane Tune using 91 Octane Gas, but dont run your 91 Octane Tune using 87 Octane Gas.
Why did'nt you get the 93 Octane Race Tune? or is it you cant get 93 Octane Gas where you live? 93 Octane Gas is only about 20 Cents more a Gallon than 87, and it only cost about $3-$4 a Tankful more to fill up with 93 vs 87. Also I found that when I switched to 93 Octane I actually got better Gas Mileage using the 93 then when I used the 87, that's as long as you keep your foot out of the Gas Pedal:gringreen
Once you run your 91 Race Tune you wont want to try the 87 Street or 91 Preformance, the 91 Race Tune will be all you'll need. Now if you had the 93 Race Tune mabey it would be a tad bit different and you'd use your other Tunes. But it's a pain in the Butt changing Gas from 87 to 91 and then back and forth again. That's why I run ALL 93 Octane Tunes, just switch and go:bigthumbsup
Good Luck and let us know how things work out for you and how you like your CAI and Tunes.

Thanks for your help. Well it seems that i actually did have 93 at the local gas stations i checked at Kroger which i have fueled up on mostly and the chevron further down the street and decided to go with chevron although the gas prices there were higher i believe it might be a higher quality gas or maybe im just dumb. SoI filled my car up with 93.
I've received the JLT CAI today (Tuesday) but Im still waiting on the tuner which should be here tomorrow (Wednesday). I'll have to wait on installing the cai until i get the tuner. I guess I will run 91 race tune, being the closest to the gas i now have in my car. Looking forward to it!

Installed JLT and 91 race tune today but running 93 octane in the car so I will get the 93 race sent to me later, but WOW! What a difference It feels more responsive and barks on the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift. I am amazed by the difference it makes. First time I rode in it I got this giant smile on my face. :D It doesn't feel like the same car!

That's what I like to hear:bigthumbsup Now I'd have already been on the phone to AM and had them send me the 93 Race Tune so I'd already have it befor My Tuner arrived:winks then after you install the 93 Race Tune Im sure you'll really be Amazed:gringreen And since your using 93 Octane Gas now you'll be all set for the 93 Race Tune. Chime back in after you install that baby and let us know what you think then.

magnaflow is the way to go.
Sorry but I have to Disagree:gringreen GT Takeoff Mufflers are by far the BEST sounding Mufflers for the V6 Stang:bigthumbsup Now if your a Youngun and like LOUD and Drone then there perfect for you. If you like Rumble with No Drone and a Stang that sounds better than the factory V8 Stangs and Camaro's go with the GT Mufflers, there OEM and sound SWEET!

What about the Borla single axle back? It's the most aggressive sounding in my opinion but is also the most expensive. What do you think about this exhaust?

I've also thought about going to an exhauest shop and getting custom fabricated h-pipe and side exhaust or dumped by the axle. Or I could get that with pipes back to delete the muffler. I can't decide what I want!

hey definitely check out Flowmasters new system for 05-09 v6 mustangs. I believe it's called the Force 2 D.O.R. system. its a complete setup of do it yourself dual exhaust. It comes with all the tubing (mandrel bent), x-pipe, and i believe 60 series mufflers. I thought it sounded pretty good for sixer exhaust and they just released it about 2 weeks ago. I'm considering getting this exhaust for my 08 v6 as well.
