19" FR500 Wheels??

Hello everyone,
I am having an issue right now with wheels and lowering and tires and such...I know nothing about them. I found some wheels made my Ford Racing here:(knockoffs)http://www.mustangtuning.com/fr500wheels1.html. I really like these wheels. I was thinking the black ones and deep dish in the rear. Here is the problem. I am looking for 19" of these so that there is not much of a gap in between tire and fender. If I HAVE to go with the 18" ones, which tire size should I buy so that they will fill that space? I appreciate your help. Remember, I know nothing about this stuff.

ok I forgot to mention, I went to a shop and they had the "Ford Racing 18"" wheels on some Yokohama tires? Anyway, for all 4 wheels with the tires, he wants 1K. Bargain right??? Well, We tried them on my car and as you can see in the pictures, the gap is ginormous. I dont know the measurments of the tires but I know these are 18" of what I want. What can I do?

I don't know about you guys, but those don't look like 18s to me. More like 17s. Plus those tires are pretty low profile, which makes the gap look even bigger. I'd check the wheel size, and get some higher profile tires on there, then see how it looks.
First thing you need to understand is it's not the size of the wheel that fills the gap. It's the size of the tire. (specifically the tire's diameter) So getting 19" wheels as opposed to 18" wheels isn't going to do you any good.

The ones you showed mounted on the black GT have the wrong size tires. The wheels are in fact 18's. 18x9's to be exact. Those are the real deal made by Ford Racing. The problem is those aren't made for the '05 (wrong offset) and the tires mounted on them are for a pre-'05 Mustang. That's why there's such a huge gap.
If you choose the 18" replica FR500 wheels from MustangTuning (like I have) you'll need 255/45/18's. (if you plan on going really wide, let me know, there are other options) Using that size will keep your gap the same as it is with stock wheels & tires.
If you have any questions, let me know. I'd be glad to explain it. Don't worry, there are a LOT of people out there who don't ubderstand this. (including wheel & tire guys :sosad: )

Here are a few pics of mine.

One more thing. They don't offer any deep dish FR500's for the '05's. They only have them for the pre-'05 Mustangs.
The only size for the '05 is 18x9 and the only color is black.

They do, however, offer the Bullitt's in deep dish for the '05. They come in all the colors and 18x9 or 18x10.
I got 275/40/18 in the rear and 235/50/18 om the front. the middle number i heard is the height. the front ones clsoe the gap up pretty good on mine (50). check em out. them yokohomas look really low profile, like 30's, if they even exist :p i dunno i just know from that pic thats a hugs gap compared to mine.
Exactly what Stangnut said, those are not the correct offset for a S197, that's why they look like that and stick out. Those are the same wheels I had on my 02 but I had silver, tires look pretty close to the same too (265/35/18).

Find some with the correct offset for an 05+ and it will look a lot better.
When they posted this 2 years ago they didn't make as many rims for the 05's. :shigrin I just ordered some of these (http://www.americanmuscle.com/18x9-gt4-hypercoated-2005.html) for my 05, I'm excited for them to come in and see how they look.

YUP! GUILTY-it was me,I didn't look at the dates either,I searched for FR500 wheels cuz that's what i want and was looking for pics-this came up and I ran with it
Sorry, didn't read the whole thing.... was called to work.

It is the overall size, rim and tire that fill the well. But until you lower her there will be a too big gap.

I have 19's with 275/35/19 rubber all around and Eibach Pro lowering springs... fits, works and looks great!

Just get a combo that's close to stock, 26-27" high.

With that you can select 18's or 19's and rubber to get to that size. 19's will hold less rubber (height) and be rougher on bad streets. I would not go less than a 9" wide rim either... you want fat rubber, at least in the rear.... I want to rotate mine and got the same size all around for that reason...
