1964 1/2 2V Carburetor choke ports

I discovered a port on my carb that was not hooked up so I researched it. I found out it is a choke clean air port from inside the air cleaner area that air goes through the exhaust manifold to the choke.

I have another line from the air cleaner housing that serves the same purpose and is hooked up. So essentially I have two ways to accomplish this. However it would seem I would be sucking unfiltered air into the carb and this can't be good for the engine.

I plan to plug the line on the carb and just go with how it is currently hooked up.

Has anyone ever seen this before. Do I possibly not have an original air filter housing?
