1965 Mustang Coupe defogger

You really don't have any choice but to go with an electric system, as there is no place in a '65 coupe body to run ducting back there.

Their is a unit that fits on the package shelf, drivers side, very rare. will get a pic of the unit with a ford box and part number, I picked up a used unit at a swapmeet the spring. will take some pic's and send along. It will be next week. Also in 67 their is a unit that sits in the center of the shelf, not easy to install as the speaker holes are diff on the 65/66. Both take air from the interiour on one side and blow on the glass on the other side.

Which unit is that? Is it new?
I imagine that you can get a blower and duct from almost any car and install it. No? Isn't the blower heating up and creating warm air as well?

the unit was available in 66 to fit on the drivers side of the package shelf. In 67 it was changed to fit in the center, both units got their warm air from the interiour and redirected it on to the rear glass.

have some pic's attched defogger c6az-18397-a1 is the unit the the dealers sold, Pic number 18 is the unit i picked up used this spring. number 13 is the 67 type. number 22 is a real after market picked up also and will not use.

I have the pic's backwards number 4 is =18 3 =13 2 =22

I do think that these units were made available only in the norther USA and Canada

I am told that a simular unit was made for gm's camero.

It looks like I can just put it in the back against the window and wire it.

Hello. A person's mind jumping straight to there is a clear indication of a mis-spent youth. :gringreen

That seems like the most practical and least intrusive solution, and likely the most inexpensive. You can always pop it in the glove box when you're not using it.

When you've gotten it installed and have had a chance to test it, let us know how well it worked.

Well its over 100 degrees here in Los Angeles. I don't how I can test it after the install
