I am in the process of installing a Rally Pak on a '65 GT clone. The engine ignition system has been completely updated with an MSD Series-5 ignition (box, coil, distributer). MSD told me I needed a "trigger" to make the tach in the Rally Pak work, so I got one of those too.

So now I have installation and wiring diagrams for my tach, and my ignition box and my trigger, none of which seem to line up with each other and are causing me no end of headaches. If I didn't need the trigger, it would be a piece of cake.

Has anyone out there done this particuar refit and can offer advice? Do I even need the trigger?

I hate to tell you, but, you may never get that Rally-Pak to live happily withe the multi strike MSD. That is once you get it wired. Mine sits on my storage shelf. I've tried all of the adapters too. Unless I was just too dense to figure it all out. In my research I found no one with a conclusive happy ending with those two components.
