Well my 65 has finally literally lost her mind. I just got done taking it out and tearing it down. Now all that's left to do is take it to the shop and wait a week. Then I go to pick up my just-like-new, bored out engine with a hotter cam. I'm freakin excited!!!!! I'm painting my firewall and some other parts black to go beautifully with the blue ford block. :happydance: :happyhapp
Make sure You take before and after pics when your done. You have to now because the you already got a thread, so im waiting. How much does it cost nowadays to get a motor torn out and rebuilt? Wanting to do it to mine or either start new.
well if I or my girlfriend can figure out how to get those pics on the thread then we will sure do. mine's a 200ci and it's costing me $1147 for the engine to get rebuilt and another $102 extra for the hotter cam and $42 somethin for the springs to accomidate. Plus all the new fluids and filters. And when I took it out I noticed that my engine mounts were split completely in half! but those were only about $10 each. Then I had to get my radiator flushed out to ensure the warranty on the engine which is costing another $50. So once you add everything up you're lookin at about $1411 give or take plus tax. But then again that's for a 200ci and those are a little cheaper than the 8's I believe. And I'm also in Kansas. It depends on where you're living
Wow, that's not bad considering your using your original engine. For a no-lead conversion and stainless valves I paid 1200 for just the heads on my B302.
