I just bought a 65 mustang and I know I have been screwed, just not sure how bad. I can not find the vin. It is my understanding that it should be on the drivers side between the shock mount and the radiator support. There is nothing there. There is a data plate on the drivers side door. When I asked the former owner a few min. ago he told me to take the right front fender off and it is on the chassie under the fender. This seems like bull to me so I thought I would ask someone that I am sure knows more than I do about mustangs, I am learning, just clearly not fast enough.
Thanks
He is correct, the VIN should also be on the top of the inner fender (battery apron) on the passenger side. You may have to loosen the top bolts for the fender and pick it up and/or pull it back some to see the VIN stamping. This stamping should also be on the driver's side like you mentioned.
If the inner fenders have been replaced then it's possible the VINs are gone. It is also possible the car could have been hit at one point and another front clip from a car was welded on with that donor car's VIN.
Hello. The vin was stamped in three places on your car from the factory. Two of those places are on the driver's side and one is on the passenger side. The front one on the driver's side you should be able to see, but, the other two you have to remove the fender to see. Here's a picture of where they are.
