My fuel line bracket is the correct (and original i hope) for my car, far as I know (& NPD book shows.) It says in catalog that the bracket for 1966 289 mounts to timing cover. It also says Only early '65 260 & 289 mount on the water pump.

VCM shows a different bracket for '64, '65 and '66. Mine being correct with their pic. But it doesn't list mounting locations.

Mines always been on the water pump. There is no problem, just wondering if anyone else's '66 has their fuel line bracket on water pump. :wavey or is my car just weird?

You need the Bob Mannel book, it has all these details.

This detail changed often and wasn't always the same for the complete production year. For '66 it was the same as late '65 and used the bracket NPD labels as -1B. Although they say its attached to the timing cover, the timing cover also holds the water pump. :) The bracket with the 2 loops for the fuel line mounts to the water pump bolt just in front of the distributor and below the vacuum advance unit. Bob says the line can be in either of the two loops. See page 6-22.
