Hello everyone,

I have a1966 ford mustang convertible. When have been doing some electric work and can't seem to place these wires, does anyone know anything about them or know what this black box may be called? Any help is greatly apprecited!

Considering the location, this appears to be the connector for the heater motor or possibly for the 4-way flasher relay. The flat piece is the remains of a switch or flasher relay. Check to see if there are 3 flat-blade slots or 4 in the connector. I'll check my '66 shortly and see if I can give you any more info.

The connector are 3 flat-blade, thank you for your help! Do you know what the blue and red wire going into the one black L- connector could be used for? I can't seem to find anything on an electric diagram to resemble this.

It can be more helpful, to know the color codes.This can help those with a wiring diagram.

That is the connector and just the back plate of the emergency flasher switch. Look in the clove box, left side and see if there is a hole there about the same size or even the mount plate and switch housing. The flasher switch is a 3 pole, single throw, and is in the $40 range to replace.

This would be a good opportunity for the OP TO to purchase a Ford published shop manual, plus the Osborne reproduction wiring diagram manual. Both are available thru Amazon and the usual Mustang vendors in both CD and print formats, personally I prefer the print versions.

Really, no one who's doing even the most basic maintenance should be without the Ford manual. It will keep you from wasting time , and wasting money as well.
