Hi everyone,

I have a 1966 coupe with a 289 v8. From the vin number and door tag plate I know this was a California car. The engine has remnants of the emissions smog system still on it, but I'm planning on removing it completely. However, there's some kind of valve screwed into my intake manifold just behind the carburetor that I don't have a clue what it is/does. I've attached a picture of it below. Anyone know what it is??

That's just a vacuum tree for supplying manifold vacuum for the transmission modulator (if C4 tranny) and brake booster (if so equipped). Someone has just put a short hose between the two unused ports rather than capping them. A box of vacuum caps will cost you a couple bucks at Autozone, and will look a lot neater.
