Rule #1 - always wire with correct OEM type harness. The 66-73 AMP meter is actually an indicator, not a real ammeter. If you try to connect it as if it were a real ammeter, it will smoke check so quickly you won't even see it die. The reason these don't work is the wire connectors from the alternator to the meter must be absolutely clean. Use Brasso, Q-Tips, and an old toothbrush to clean them. Then put a thin coat of silicone grease on them and put them back together. It'll move quite noticeably, then.
