1966 Mustang courtesy lamp under dash problem

1384 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Veronica
restoring my 66 mustang and the courtesy lamp that screws underneath the dash is rusted out...probably from leaking cowl vents....Anyways it looks as if its 2 parts, I got it seperated but cant figure out how to replace the part that is wired. The wire is coming in from the bottom but I cant figure out how to disconnect it, as its attached to a small white plastic piece keeping it in the metal part.

Any help would be appreciated...:wavey

Hello.:) :welcome: On a 66 the courtesy lights are an integral part of the underdash harness. They don't disconnect.:nogrinner You have to cut them off and connect a new one.:)

well that makes sense....do you by chance no where to purchase a new one?

Thanks
Hi again.:) I'm assuming that you mean a new courtesy light, not a new underdash harness.:gringreenYou might try places like Virginia Mustang or Year One, but, as far as I know, no one makes just the sockets. Hope that helps.:)
