So the bugger (the car) is leaking oil, bad. I keep having to refill the oil at an almost constant rate, and I'm not supposed to have to do that, right? I think it's a valve...? Could it be the dipstick is broken...?

I would clean the engine off the best you can and try to determine where the oil is going. Is the car exhaust smoking? You have to determine where the oil is going. If you have a dirty surface to park the car on, find a large piece of cardboard and look where the oil is dripping from.

You have to know where it is coming from, if your block is coverd in oil and grease you wont easily be able to tell if there is any new on there. I say, clean it off like Yerdonrw said and see if you can spot the leak. You might just get lucky and its leaking out a easy to fix area. It might just be coming right out of the pan, you never know.
