1966 Mustang - need interior advice

I am the proud new owner of a 1966 Mustang

I am really torn on what to do with the interior.

The car was originally Arcadian Blue until it was repainted Dark Blue

The interior is the original interior with the two tone blue seats and a replaced door panel which went from dark blue to black. The headliner is the roiginal white. My dash which is original and very clean is still the 2 tone blue with a black glove box and black instrument gauge's.

At this point the seat foams are shot, the headliner needs replaced and the carpet could use an update.

I have 2 thoughts at this point
1)Replace the existing seat covers with a custom TMI blue seat with a black insert, replace the carpet, sun visors and headliner in black.

2)Go to a standard black interior in the car which would require me to paint the door trim, the quarter panels and the lower dash black. The upper dash I could either cap or leave the dark blue as it currently has a black dash mat on it.

No matter what I do I plan on replacing the seat foams. Is it worth the upgrade to go to a sport seat with side bolsters fro ma comfort standpoint?

Have you thought about replacing the door cards to light blue with a dark blue centre.
Interior looks OK when it matches the car colour.
Not a big fan of a black interior.
Where would I find a door panel with a light blue/dark blue combination?

Interesting thought as I could just replace the foams as the interior is actually in pretty good shape.
Normally I would say "go for the sport seats", but in your case I like Tony_64's idea. The two-tone looks cool!

Most mustang parts suppliers will sell the 2 tone door cards.
Just look in their catalogues.
I like the gas pedal.:gringreen
I reupholstered my pony interior last summer. I went with the TMI sport seat kit and headrests. It was worth it to me as my drivers seat had a few stress tears and the lack of support wasn't doing my back any favors. Took two weekends with a week of work in between, lots of patience, and a twelve pack of beer but they came out perfect. I autocross my car so the side bolsters were really nice to have
