Ahoy all!

First post here, thanks for being here!

I just got a 1966 Mustang Coupe 6 cyl.

Both tail lights illuminate when I turn on the headlights.

However, only the left tail light gets brighter when I press the brake... The right light just stays at the idle illumination level.

I replaced the bulbs with new 1157 bulbs and issue continues.

I got pulled over the first day I drove her for the brake light being "out"... :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Happy New year all! :)

Hello. :) :welcome
The problem could be either the socket that the bulb is plugged into, the connector that plugs into the back of the tail light housing, or possibly, the brake light wire that goes from the splice over on the driver's side to the passenger side tail light. I would start by plugging the right side connector into the back of the left side tail light housing to see if the problem moves over to the driver's side. If yes, it's the connector or the wire, if no, it's the socket on the tail light housing. :)
