I sent away and had the autolite 2100 2 brl rebuilt. Installed it and the idle speed is too high, even after it's warmed up. I am not sure about the size and locations of the trottle springs. A picture would help if anyone has one. Also there there was no dashpot when I purchased the car. Do I need one? It does run without one. Thanks.

Along with several adjustments that have to be made internally when rebuilding, the carb has to be adjusted for idle mixture and of course, idle speed. The dashpot is simply there to make the transition from partial throttle to idle gradually to avoid stalling. It's not needed unless that is a problem.

I'm amazed that there are companies that sell this service. Well I guess I shouldn't be. How can the float not get mis-adjusted when the unit is shipped back dry? The 2100 is such a simple rebuild job. The tech who does this probably does four an hour.
