Hey Guys,

I have an issue with the right turn signal in my car, It seems that it stays on without blinking. The left one works fine. I changed all the bulbs on the car, all go on. Could it be a fuse? Anyone have similar experience?

my first thought is the thermal flasher. if its bad any number of things could happen. but generally both sides use the same flasher. so i would look for a bulb out or a short. a resistance in the circuit thats different from the oem will cause the flashing speed to change(possibly fast enough to stay on all the time).

I was thinking it had something to do with the fuse because originally there was a 14 amp fuse which produced no right turn signal light but left worked. I put a 15 amp fuse in and I got a steady light. would try a 20 amp fuse just for the heck of it but i can't find one to fit

I doubt it's related to a fuse. All the fuse does is cut off the supply of juice (blow) if resistance is greater than the fuse's rating. A higher rated fuse in a slot designated for a lower one should be avoided because it increases the risk of an electrical fire. Otherwise, it doesn't change anything to the circuit.

Which leads me to believe you have a loose wire or ground somewhere and jiggling the wires / fusebox is causing things to behave unpredictably. I also think replacing the flasher would be a good idea.

Enjoy!

a flasher is cheaper (like 3 bucks) and will eliminate once source of question in the circuit if its not the issue. i would just replace it and see if anything changes. if not, then find all the grounds and replace the terminal and sand off any corrosion.
i know all too well the nightmares of electrical problems.. good luck

idk about a 68, i know on a foxbody its driver side on the bottom of the dash close to the kick panel(where the fuses are) on the back side of the fuse panel. i imagine (for ease of wiring) it will be close to either the fuse panel or the steering column. you should be able to look up under the dash and get to it, but sometimes flashers(like in my 06 f150) theyre in the middle of the dashboard. im betting its under the dash, close to the steering column. google images will probably help

The flashers are located behind the dash. You have 2 if I'm not mistaken. One for the turn signals and one for the 4 way flashers. To figure out which is which, you said the the left turn signal works, then turn the left turn signal on and listen for the clicking noise under the dash to find out which flasher is for the turn signals.
