Hey guys,
Ive got a question for you, Ive got a '68 fastback and Im working on and its almost ready for paint. I noticed that my door striker on the passenger side had a buffer on the door striker (the driver side sheered off). Ive been looking for a good 2 hours online and I can find plenty of door strikers but none with a buffer of some sort. My question to you is was that even a factory part or did some one rig that on the car? I was under the assumption that it wasn't until '71 that buffers were installed on door strikers. Also has anyone run into this before? I hear that if you have a buffer you can cut down on the noise of metal on metal.

I know mid 70's bronco door strikers will fit the mustang but does anyone know where I can find any striker that will fit a 68 and have a buffer installed?

Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by a buffer. I just got some new ones from Scott Drake and they have some sort of spring metal between the solid base pin and the outer collar.
