I am the new owner of a 1969 Mustang Mach 1, originally sold in Spain back in 1969 (I am from Spain). I just wanted to know what is the original color of the car. The tag on the door says 45 color code, I just check on the books but no numbers for colors, just letters. Any idea what color code 45 is?

Thank you

Your car was originally Silver Jade (code 4) with the black out hood treatment (code 5), hence "45" as your color code.

Here's a pic of a Silver Jade 69 Mach 1 with the black out hood treatment, this is EXACTLY what your car looked like originally, http://www.svs.com/users/zim/mustang/images/69-4.jpg

It's a little cloudy in that pic but it is a metallic paint.

(personally I love that color, one of my favorites in 69. A very nice shade of green that really "pops" in the sunlight)

EDIT: I should mention that Silver Jade is a different shade of metallic green than Lime Gold (code I) that everyone has a love/hate relationship with. Lime Gold is the color some people call 'puke green' or 'metallic pea'.

Thank you Jay, as the car had a very bad paint (sort of black), the original colour can be found in some places on the body; behind the body moldings, rocker panels etc..

I think it´s a beautiful colour, I just can´t imagine the car in this colour, but after looking at the picture on the link you put it looks pretty nice.

I have another question, the car is an H code (351 2 barrel), the engine has a cracked exhaust manifold and in need of some update, so I was thinking pulling the engine for detailing. Someone told me that the exhaust manifolds are different of those of a 4 barrel engine..is it true? Is it worth to upgrade to a 4 barrel? Do I need to change the heads for those of the 4 barrel model (M code)?

The car has a 4 speed transmission (wide ratio) and a 3.00 final drive.

Sorry for the questions..!

Thanks again.
