1969 Mustang Suspension Upgrade?

3563 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  1DayShelby
So one of the first things I'm going to do with my mustang on my own is suspension work. However, I don't know where to start. Is it a good idea to just get a suspension kit. I just want to freshen up and modernize the suspension so it handles corners well and is more fun to drive :) I'm unexperienced with cars, so is suspension work a huge deal? I'm also 16 with no money so is there a way to get some nice upgrades without killing the bank? It's okay to talk to me like I'm a baby because in a sense I am right now in this subject haha

For starters, take a look at your shock absorbers. If they're old & weak, replace 'em.

Shop around -- you might get lucky on a set of lightly-used shocks. Craigslist, ebay, swap meets, club meets, Pick-A-Part, forum ads, etc.
