I have what I believe to be a 351 Cleveland motor and I would like to build it for the car. However it has a large chip out of one of the lifter ports. Can this block be fixed or should I start looking for another block? Thanks

Just my $0.02

Looking at the picture, I don't think any weld would hold up. I would just be safe and find another block.

There are a lot of cast iron weld repair rods on the market and many work quite well but you might have a problem getting that to hold up. By the time you weld it back, bore and install a bushing, you could finds another 351C block for less money.

I'm not sure what happened to the motor to cause the damage, I bought the Mach as a project and the block was already in it. It does also have a crack that I hadn't noticed before asking about the ports.
