ok, so ive pulled all 15 bolts, and ive pryed the pan off the block. i have decided not to pull the motor. the pan can be wiggled, but is pinned in between the block and the rack and pinion. do i remove the rack and pinion? any easier ways

If you have an engine lift available, you can lift the engine slightly (unbolt the engine from the mounts first, and watch the firewall and trans tunnel, don't want to catch anything up or bend anything) and see if that gives you any more room. Don't go forcing it out of there, you'll only end up bending the pan or the pickup tube that is connected to your oil pump.

Unbolt the 2 bolts that hold the R & P to the cross member and pull the R & P down. That will give you enough clearance to drop the oil pan.
