Hey everyone,

You guys have always been great help, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what is the best product to use for resecuring my T-Top glass to the T-Top frames, they came apart when i first bought the vehicle, and then we tried using some ULTRA GLUE that supposedly will bond EVERYTHING, glass, plastic, metal etc.

I know everyone is going to ask this, and yes, the surfaces were clean, i was cleaning it up yesterday, and getting the old adhesive off the glass was easy, just came right off. It stuck damn well to the frame though hahaha.

I tried hahaha
I took apart my T-Tops, put the plastic frames in HOT HOT water with some boiling (to make it formable)
Stretched it all out, clamped it, left it overnight, and sweet, when i removed the clamps it didn't sink back in.
Glued it together, let it dry, installed weatherstripping, and installed on vehicle.

Let it sit for a day or so, then added water to the mix.

And oh no!
It still leaks, Almost as bad as before, a little better.

So i have one more trick up my sleeve.

I am going to get some saran wrap, or plastic like that, then i am going to push that into the groves around the glass that make up the track. Then i am going to fill it with some kind of a rubber compound or something (any suggestions) then let it dry and in the end i will essentially have plugs....

any thoughts? Suggestions? anyone tried this?

Why are you not using clear silicone adhesive for this job?

I asked a few people and they came back with weatherstrip adhesive. Actually, it worked quite well, no seperating at all.

Or do you mean for filling in the channels... I am basically trying to make it leak free without peranently sealing my T-tops closed. Thats why i wanna use the seran wrap, so it wont stick to everything and seal it forever closed...

You think this will work.

And it still leaks because i guess my measurements of how far i had to pull it out were slighly off. Just enough to screw me haha

They were poorly designed right from the get go with those t-top cars. i don't think there is one out there that is completely tight. It was the reason that many owners of the cars (when they were new) sold them. It becomes more crucial if the car is a daily driver. I have given up on making mine completely tight. I guess the good news is that i only drive the car in good weather, but I do get "caught" in the rain and occasionally have to put up with the leaks. Good luck with yours!

Yeah, i have decided not to keep the mustang as a daily driver anymore, too much of a pain when i wake up and its raining, So i bought a daily driver in the form of a 2004 ranger.

And yeah, i guess you are right about never getting it perfect, i just want to make it so its not as bad, withought actually sealling the tops, and i think (when i get to it) using the silicon or something to that effect is gonna be the easiest way to somewhat seal it.
