1979 mustang with C4 Transmission downshifts hard

I have been working on this Ghia for a bit now. Just got it on the road. The car runs great. But in my opinion it shifts out to early, and definitely downshifts to hard. Worse when it downshifts from third to second. Any suggestions? Is this something I can adjust out? Any help is greatly appreciated..

Check the adjustment of your TV(throttle valve, i believe) cable and make sure it is adjusted correctly.

downshifting hard

Thank you for your response. I have only linkages running to my transmission. I know there are 2 adjustments on the transmission. But not sure how to adjust. It shfts to early and downshifts hard. Hope I do not have to pull the transmission again..dissapointed.gif
