I am restoring my 1982 Mustang GT with several questions regarding paint finishes. The car is being painted a stock black color.

1) What is the stock factory color of the headlight trim pieces - gloss black, satin black, or flat black? Probably the same color/finish for all car colors.
2) On the front and rear bumpers, the portion that extends out to look like a rubber pad, is it a satin or flat black finish to match the rubber side moldings?
3) The rear view mirrors were painted a satin black as far as I can remember. Is this correct?
4) Glass trim pieces are aluminum with what appears to have been a flat or satin black paint. Is satin black ok and what type of paint used?

It's called trim black, but it's essentially a satin black. At this point, you could paint it whatever you want but I'm guessing you want it back to factory spec. Go with the satin.

Trim Color

Thanks for all the responses.

What about the rear side window louvers. I believe these were gloss black and not trim black. Any thoughts?
