Seen a 1984 mustang gt for sale, now i know these have a different 5.0 motor that thr newer foxbodies,, they want like 1300 for it salvage title dont care about salvage plan om keeping the car, i will take a mechanic with me, they will smog before i buy,
Now are these stangs good as far as performance parts or would i be better off buying a 5.0 HO motor and swapping it in?? What would i need for that??

If it's a GT it will already have the HO 5.0L engine unless someone's changed the engine...or it's a clone.

I had the '83 GT brand new. It had the HO 5.0L, Holley/Ford 4 barrel with 3/4 racing cam as stock. They were a fast car in their day.

Okay, but is that engine worth putting money into or should i just swap a newer 5.0

How many miles are on it?HOW good is the condition?My friend bought a 1989 LX 5.0HO for like 3500.00 in very good shape.I just hate to see you put money in something that MAY need to much work.That's what you have to ask yourself.Good Luck!
