Hi everyone .. I have a BIIIG problem with my Mustang ..

My car is a 1985 Mustang GT with AOD transmission ..


the problem is becouse I can"t put or shift between N - R and P .. my shifter is "stuck" and I can only shift between 1 - D and OD ..

when I was under the car, and my brother tried to put the shifter from OD into N, I saw that wire cant move that "shift linkage" on the case of the transmision .. it"s seems that this "shift linkage" on the case of the transmision (on the left side) is stuck, and I can"t figure it out what"s the problem ..

You should be able to move the linkage forward with your hand as someone works the shifter inside the car to allow it to move. If the linkage won't move, there's something inside the pan or internal to the transmission that's damaged. Pull the trans pan off and inspect the linkage there first.

The cable wasn't damaged was it? They tend to split the sheath and not extend the cable fully, causing you to not be able to get N, R, or P.

still didnt figure it out .. anyone knows where I could get a good REPAIR MANUAL BOOK for my AOD tranny ???
