Ok I Just Bought A 86 Mustang 5.0 The Owner Has An Aftermarket Cam For The Car But Says That It Needs To Be Changed To A Carborator Instead Of Fuel Injection, Is This True...i Need Help Before I Put The Motor Back Together

i have neve heard of a cam desiding whether to use a carb or fi. I would say that you dont need to switch, but if you do keep the fi go with a Mass air(89-93 mustangs) as opposed to the speed density (86-88), it is a better system and better for upgrades. The carb would be an easier swap, that might have been what the guy was talking about.

That's what it means... carb it or convert to mass air. It'd be too aggressive for the stock speed density system and it'd have idle quality issues and poor mileage.

yeah, a carb swap wouldn't be hard, mostly it would just mean buying an intake manifold and removing a bunch of stuff like sensors that are specific to fuel injection. i like it, there's alot less junk cluttering the engine bay.
