I bought my 86 mustang last month. It is 100% original. The problem is at speed when I ease up on the gas it is VERY jerky. Sometimes at an idel it dies. Under acceleration it is strong and doesn't miss a beat. I have replaced the plugs and original 1986 plug wires and the problem still happens. Can any one help???

Had the same problem with a '67 I used to have 20 yrs ago. A full tune up and a timing adjust would do the trick. Since you did most of it already..maybe the rotor and diz cap???

I would then check the EFI module on the distributor and it's harness, it's about time for one of them to go considering the age.
