87 GT carbed...right now I have this filter and Im thinking it might be too small because my FPR (holley) is set at 6psi and sometimes it will creep up to 9 and fall back down to 6

this is the one I have right now...maybe too small causing a restriction? I dont even know what this filter is a replacement for I just figured a fuel filter is a fuel filter and I used it, seeing as how Im dealing with an aftermarket type setup. In reality this filter is about the diameter of a half dollar coin and about 3 inches long

The filter is before or after the FPR? You said its set for 6 and creeps up to 9? If the fuel filter was to small wouldnt it drop below 6 and then creep back up? sorry those are more questions then an answer it was just a thought, Might be a problem with the regulator

the filter is after the regulator...I wasnt sure if the electric pump was trying to push 6psi of fuel in and then a fuel filter too small was restricting it causing a pressure backup giving me a 9psi reading (I have a fuel pressure gauge plumbed into the regulator)

thanks

I would recommend a clear sight fuel filter, and that first one seemed a little tiny to me. I've used the clear one and it's always worked for me. Not all filters are the same.
