1987 Mustang carbed, Fuel Filter Recommendation??

1080 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  EagleAutosports
87 GT carbed...right now I have this filter and Im thinking it might be too small because my FPR (holley) is set at 6psi and sometimes it will creep up to 9 and fall back down to 6

this is the one I have right now...maybe too small causing a restriction? I dont even know what this filter is a replacement for I just figured a fuel filter is a fuel filter and I used it, seeing as how Im dealing with an aftermarket type setup. In reality this filter is about the diameter of a half dollar coin and about 3 inches long

The filter is before or after the FPR? You said its set for 6 and creeps up to 9? If the fuel filter was to small wouldnt it drop below 6 and then creep back up? sorry those are more questions then an answer it was just a thought, Might be a problem with the regulator
That also makes sense. I have always liked http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/00004252AF9F62E5?artistid=706142&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=60
That kind of filter for a carb setup. Thats my opinion. They have them at any [arts store. its praly a little bigger than the one that you have and its really coool to watch while your carb. Just my opinion
