ok i just got a 87 gt from a friend he said it had a blowen head gasket the piston and the valves have carbon on them but when i was looking in the cylinders i seen some thing it looks like a indent about inch down from the deck i think it may be piston slap but not sure can any 1 help also do u think i can just slap it together thanks in adv

indent or do you mean a gash of some sort???

it may be a gash its in cyl 8 and 1 as far as i see not that deep tho if u rub your finger in the cyl wall u can feel it kinda dips in i didnt rotate the motor yet i was just trying to clean it up a bit

it seems either way you will be needing some bore work, but need to find out the problem causing the gash first....how do pistons and rings look?

I'd bore and hone the block, new hyperutectic pistons and rings and a good set of heads. That should fix your problem. I doubt its within your budget though...

Its really bad to run a motor with a score like that in one of the cylinders. Just asking for trouble.
