hey fella's just bought a 87 mustang gt,
just put a new tranny in it, t5
new 373 gears
new bbk long tube headers
new bbk h pipe
mac exhaust
and I have recently aquired a 93 OEM Cobra upper and lower intake
I also have msd coil, cap and rotor and wires
all fluids have been changed to royal purple..

should I get the gt40 heads?
what all should I do to get decent HP gains... there is a budget lets say 1500$ give er take


I am also looking to change the car from SD to a Mass Air system...

If you can afford a nice set of aluminum heads such as AFR or trickflow you would be set. You will still get some gains from gt40s and a cam though. I would personally save up a bit more and get some AFR 165 heads and a cam to go with it.

should I also get the 1.7 rr also? what is the best cam bang for buck? I have checked out AFR heads 165 and the 185's also I did check out a bunch of trickflow stuff after doing more reading on the forums
should I get 24lbs injectors? change my fuel pump?

the factory fuel pump isn't that good. For the added reliability I would pick up a walbro 255lph. Factory injectors are good too about 300 hp or so. 1.7 rockers would be a wise choice if you decided to use the stock cam with aftermarket heads. In order to see the full potential of the heads you should get a different cam though.

compcams always makes great products. Whatever you do, don't use a ford motorsports cam. they are old trash lol.

I can't tell you what cam would be best. That's a question for someone with more experience than myself.
