so i bought an 87 mustang gt t top about a year ago and i know that probably nobody has found out the production numbers, but i figured i would post some pictures of it. It is a true 5 speed car and it still has the door tag that proves its legitimacy. I know it doesnt look good but i have big plans for it and i plan on documenting it all for you to witness over the next few summers. enjoy!!!

My T top had floor pan cracks I had to repair the floor before finally getting it painted, check under the drivers seat, Rocker to inner floor pan at rocker top seam, under the rear seat.I bought a sub frame kit and added 1 X 1 1/2 tubing each side under the rocker, cut the tubing with a hole saw so it would fit to the round sub frame kit rail, made it into a ladder for each side,4 or 5 cross pieces , cross pieces under the seats and rear foot area for roll bar mount. I added formed angle iron under the rear seat, and 1/2 tube across the top of the rad support. It handles a lot better with the frame stiffening..
what sub frame kit did you order i was thinking of ordering the maximum motorsports full length kit and adding some square tubing to make a k shape that would out of each connector for added support, ive seen it done before but i never really know the results

Sorry about the slow reply, It has been daylight till dark on the Farm since the snow melted, I bought my kit from Charlie's Mustangs in Calif. ,RIP Charlie, no one bought his business after he passed away. He had a race car up on the rack that had a ladder type sub frame kit installed. He did not have another one in stock so I bought I think a global west single tube kit and made the ladders. The ladder kit is still available. I was under yesterday and there is still some distortion where the Box section of the rear upper controll arms mount is welded to the rear seat riser. That's why I installed the angle iron under the seat. With horsepower and tires they need a good sub frame kit. the next time I have the radiaator out I will add box tube around the radiator tieing the lower" frame Rail" parts together with stronger material . I have the Global west double tube shock tower cowl brace still laying in the back of the shop. I need a compact right angle drill to get all the holes drilled. I thought about welding it but the engine would probably not be able to come out. When I was an Engineer at Ford they put some big tires on a test mule and did some hard cornering, I don't remember if it was Mustang II or Fox. the front structure crunched. They increased metal thickness on the radiator support panel , but not enough if you drive it hard.
