I'm a new owner of this 1988 5.0 mustang. It was recently handed down to me when the orignial owner went to prison. I have no idea what has been done under the hood. I have tried to find out as much as I can but, to little help I'm at about where I was when i first got the car.

A few weeks after bringing the vehicle home, I had walked outside to someone with a screwdriver and a hammer in the ignition. I have removed and replaced the old one, but now that i have the new one in the car will start just fine... but wont turn off any help would be greatly appreciated and is desperatly needed. I'M SICK OF DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY TO TURN IT OFF!!!!

Could be a faulty ignition switch, or aftermarket car alarm not properly installed.
No car alarm...but should i attempt to replace the igniton again and see what happens or is there any way to find out if when they used the hammer and screwdriver if they broke something else?

Wow that car has a troubled past! Welcome to AFM.

GTRaptor could be on track here. Have you double checked all the connections? I'd keep an eye on her... sounds like someone wants that car back...
Browse around and have fun!
