Just bought an 88 LX 5.0 ragtop with only 52,000 documented miles. It's been in a very nice eldery couples garage for about 3 years only to be started every now and then. Been driving it for about a week with no issues at all. I came home on Friday to an entire driveway full of cars, so I parked it in front of my house on a slope until Saturday afternoon. Now when I drive the car, it has no gears after 1-2. I'm getting ready to change the filter and fluid. What could cause this problem? Is it because it was on a slope all night after sitting for 3 years without being driven or is there even a connection to that at all? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks to everyone in advance. I am happy to be back in a Mustang for the first time since 93.
