I poured coolant into my new 5.0 motor for the first time the other day and found a pretty big leak, its coming from the timing chain cover, I got new gaskets and they came with a new bearing or harmonic balancer seal (not really sure what its called, but it is a rubber/metal ring that looks like it seals the harmonic balancer so no oil leaks). So how do I get the old one out? I have tried prying with a flat head and some scrapers but it wont budge. What gives?

I just call it the front seal. Its the front crank shaft seal. You have to tap it out with a hammer and anything you can find maybe a big socket or a punch. Becarefull and support the cover well before tapping because it can brake very easily it is just cast alluminum.
