88 Mustang Convertible, it says I need Type A transmission fluid, I can not find anybody that knows about that. What do I need to do ?

OK ATF type A is a ford fluid and is still available. But in your TOP you can use any type of ATF it really does not matter. Dextron 3 is ok as well as synthetics. The type A has more FRICTION MODIFIERS. The newer fluids are more compatible to higher HEAT from newer engines. Hydrulic oil i think would be to thick. Not 100% but i would use any modern ATF that is dextron :bigthumbsup:bigthumbsup
