So a few months ago my emergency brake cable snapped and I never go around to fixing it. I did tie up the cable and removed that big metal piece that holds the cable in place. So I ordered the part it should be here soon. I guess my main question is how do I go about doing this? Does anyone have any drawings or schematics of what I should be doing? Also, I am pretty sure that once the cable snapped the spring uncoiled so how do I remove the cover and wind the spring back up? Thanks a lot!

ummmm... you ordered the cable i'm guessing? just pull the old cable out and put the new one in in the same route as the old one. I'm not sure what spring your talking about though, the one just outside the brake drum? if so the cable comes with one already on it. hope this helps.
