seat time, suspension, and sticky tires it possible..

having the stock intake on top of those heads is alot worse than the stock cam between them..at least get an explorer/gt40 or something cheap..its miles better than what you have..

Not to be a buzz kill......

It appears your only true performance mod is the heads.....

To run 12's you will need an intake & cam......

Suspension will also be needed to get there.......

loss some weight get some slicks and you will be in the 12s:bigthumbsup
Surely you jest......

i think 12's are possible with the stock cam in there..not the intake though..thats going to kill that combo..

plus it'll need other supporting mods..exhaust,tb,maf,suspension work,etc..

the heads are being REALLY limited by the stock intake..that intake is so bad it chokes a set of E7's,let alone TFS 170's..

Yaa

I can totally see the intake choking my combo to be honest! The intake runners on the heads are huge compared to my mini stock intake  I'm on a budget though so the intake will be next in about 2 months. I'm sure I'll recognize at least some significant power gain from the heads.

Yes it can be done with stock cam and with all described above.....

Anything but a B-cam.........:smartass:

It's possible but like the others said, that stock intake gotsta go if you want the best setup. It's like trying to breathe through a straw while running track.

Just understand ETs don't come exclusively from under the hood. There's as much ET in your suspension but also from the nut behind the wheel. You need seat time to hone your driving skills and that alone would really knock down some ET.

There's a guy local to me that runs an 8.03 (1/8 mile) with 100% stock under the hood, down to the air silencer. BUT.

What he does have is a cat back exhaust (Flowmaster, what else?), Mickey Thompson ET Streets, and 4:10s. He'll ice down the intake for 45 minutes, then take the accessory belt off and make his runs that way. Yes he runs without the alternator charging or water pump turning. He'll make his run and then put the belt back on when he gets on the return road with the heater on full blast to cool the engine. He runs 8.0s all day long that way.

The point is, there's many other ways to low ETs than what most do and that's thinking it's all under the hood.

I agree

Suspension is a key component I'd agree ! I got some bbk weld in subframes too :bigthumbsup ya I despise bolting up the stock intake ! I'm just out of money now =P as for seat time I view my self as an experienced driver. I've been driving it for 5 years haha thanks for the replies guys

well, I'm not sure what is allowed in crazy CA, but to put those heads on without intake and cam was foolish...you might try tuning the car to run e85, at 104 octane, you could really push the limit of the timing and keep the emission nazis off your butt.

AFR makes 165&185 Cali smog legal im sure the trickflows are just the same not to mention there are multiple good intakes that are smog legal too you just have to have a carb number and your good there only nazi's really when it comes to the cat's and your midpipe

well I'm no expert on CA emissions, but I've read here that even having headers on your car is an instant fail in CA from "visual" inspection, so I'm sure it's not that easy.

yea im not a expert either but i just had to smog mine back in feb and i have aftermarket headers midpipe and cai . but they all had c.a.r.b numbers so as soon as they seen that it was no problem and again the biggest trouble i had was the cats and midpipe because to my knowlegde there i only like 2 or 3 mid pipes that are legal here 1 being the stock and 2 magnaflow x pipe with 4 cats oh and you have to have a working smog pump & you have to have as many cats as it came with stock
