My latch on the passenger side doesn't work because the J hook fell out. I picked up a replacement latch and was wondering how to replace the broken one. I tried to search here and google on a "how to" for replacing the latch. Any help is appreciated thanks!

i just replaced the j hook with a screw. it had the rite thread size and i got my step dad to give it a nice bend.

Now by J-hook u mean the piece that hold the top down when you close the latch ?

You can buy the J hook seperately and it threads on. Will be much easier then replaceing the latch

To replace the latch you have to work from the top of the roof down. That means pealing back the fabric, not a fun job. And depending on the condition of the fabric it may not go back on right.

I have a 2000 Mustang GT stock

Do you start with the top up, down? any tricks or watchouts?
