hey, i have a 89 gt with lots off stuff done too the engine.cam,heads,intake,etc. lots off power,but when it gets hot i lose some power,the engines seems rough and i hear a pop nosie almost like a backfire when i floor it. and the temp hand dont read that it is hot at all. i changed the thermostat ,the clutch fan,and the rad stopper .no signs off head gasket troubles.wtf? drives me crazy! also anyone know how hard its too change the sync in the tranny?

Sounds like heat soak. Do you have this problem in winter?

Is the pop noise coming from the intake area? If yes, that sounds like a lean condition. That would also explain the loss of power when it warms up.

the noise sounds like its coming from under the passenger front floor somwere.and it only happens when i floor it.
what is lean?and heat soak?
