I've read on a few threads that its easier to change the oil pan gasket with the engine pulled than with it in the car, but i was wondering... would it be possible to get the job done with the transmission out? Hit a few snags on my 5-speed swap with the flywheel-pressure plate bolts not seating correctly:?: and I figured I may as well try to do something in the mean-time. Any advice is greatly appreciated,

With the trans out you wil have to hoist the engine up to get the oil pan drapped, so you will be better just pulling the engine. It would be a safe bet
