hey everyone,
my clutch has been slipping very bad to the point that i have stopped driving it daily. I went down to a local shop today and they quoted me at $1,100 to replace it with a stock clutch. I was wondering if anybody else has had this done and if this is a high price?
thanks

I have never brought mine to a shop to have it done but the clutch is about 150 bucks with the pressure plate an it is not ver hard to just do it yourself i would just recomened doing it your self. But if you hav to bring it to a shop with parts and labor i think that is about right.
theres nothing like doing sumthing on your own and learning your car in the process. like ne thing it takes time and a little bit of knowledge. my bro who had never really done ne thing with cars swaped motors and did his own clutch replacement so pritty much any one can do it. its actually pritty simple. if you think ur up for it then i say do it on ur own if u know nothing about cars let sum one else do it!

that seems really high to me. you can get the whole tranny removed, rebuilt, and put back in for that price... :-/

This is a Great Post. And I agree 100%.

Guys need to really get their hands dirty, on there own cars. Dont be to intimidated by certain aspects of building or just plain working on them.

Not saying go out and tackle a full rebuild of the engine, tranny or Rear end, but take small steps. Start with Intake gasket replacements, work your way up to head gaskets. Then try a Cam swap. Most things are pretty simple, and you only realize this, once your head first into doing it.

Its a very good learning experience, and the best way to learn, is hands on.

I stood by and watch tons of guys working on cars when I was younger, never really caught on till I did the things Myself.:bigthumbsup
