OK so in my '90 gt hatch, I have some wires that were cut and that are coming out of the dash from the passenger side. I bought the car like this and I'm wondering where these wires belong to. As you can see, I dont have any radio/stereo, The heater blower motor works, and I have not speakers on the doors were they're suppose to go. So i'm just wondering where they belong to? My instrument cluster light also doesnt work. The pictures below shows what I have.

it looks like the wires for the radio and speakers, I hate to see people to cheap to buy the harness adapter ! makes you wonder what else he did wrong, good luck
I was thinking they were the wires that went to the Factory Amplifier.
They are in the right place to be them.

The Cluster light, play witht he dimmer, mine cuts out sometimes, untill i wiggle the dimmer.
Ah, you gotta like hack jobs... people just snip away with wirecutters sometimes.

Those look like either the stereo or factory amplifier harnesses.
Really? all those wires would go to just the stereo? and theres also an amplifier? as for the dimmer switch, I've tried wiggling it and I get nothing. I play with the switch and nothing happens. What is suppose to dim and brighten? I remember awhile back, when I first got the car, I remember I would shake that bunch of wires thats coming out of the dash, and the instrument cluster lighter would flicker off and on, but now it doesnt do that anymore.
yes

If you would get flickering when you yanked on the wires behind? you then answered your own question on whats probably wrong, :D

The wires get brittle in some cases, or come loose from connections, plugs get dirty and so on. You may need to yank out the gauge cluster and start from the wires out.
The dimmer would be my first starting point, there are a bunch of wires going to it. It dims most lights, Gauges, Dash, and Radio. I am not the only one with a problem there. I have read a few threads from people with it.

Those do look like the radio wires, I havent got that far yet on mine so i went out to take a pic to show you.

Ther WAS, or may still be, an amp in the back, in front of the console, under the heater vent. It attaches to the bracket, bolted to the trans hump, in front of the console.

It looks nothing like any amp i ever saw, its almost octigon shaped, with holes and fins, silver. A google pic search will show you one.

I dont think anyone uses them, unless they are restoreing to perfect stock.

Oh, I wanted to add.

Besides the Amp, The premium sound system had an equilizer as well, mounted where the "Coin Tray" is, under the radio, adding even more wires to the factory bundle.
