EGR. You should fix that or at least plug up the line because when the computer tell the EGR to open you have a vacuum leak. At idle and WOT you will be fine though. Still patch it up.

All you need to do is find a rubber hose that plastic line fits snugly into, and use that to reconnect the two. That's common, those hard plastic lines get brittle with the underhood heat.

I have one last question about this topic. I know where two of the lines go, one to the EGR and one under the intake. I have three broken, one to the EGR and two more BUT I don't know where to find them. I know that the single one to the manifold is still in place. Any help please, I'm crossing my fingers that this might be the cause of a recent problem?

On my 1988....Im using at least two of the lines on that square thingamajig....one to egr and one under the upper manifold....I know two others are cut and blocked. Ill take a look and let you know.

On the square vacuum thing....out of the five ports it has, Im using two.
