First post. I bought a 1991 LX convertible today. Car needs help in many ways, but the biggest right now is the slipping transmission.
Reverse, drive, second, etc, put it in gear and it slips meaning it doesn't go anywhere. There's also a whine coming from the area. Give it a couple of seconds and it will go. But pressing the gas pedal first does nothing. Letting off and then trying again might get it working.
As I said, this is my first mustang. I tried a search, no real luck. My guess at this point is I'm going to need a new AOD(?)
