I wouldn't go no more then a cam spected over an E-303, if your going to run a 1.7:1 R.R. make sure you check piston to valve clearance. Your better off sticking with 1.6:1 R.R., not so many issues to deal with, Mike. SCT Tuner.:bigthumbsup

Take a look at the Steeda 18.....
thanks what do you think would be good if i ran the 1.6rr
Question is, do you already have 1.7 rockers or putting together a list of valvetrain parts? I ask because if you already have the rockers, we can recommend a cam meant for use with 1.7's. Most Ford cams are designed for a 1.6 rocker, change it to a 1.7 and you have to recalculate your clearances and tolerances.
im just trying to figuare out what to get just really the best set up. i was thinking either the tfs 1 or one of the 303 cams. how does the steeda compare to these

IMO the steeda cam with 1.7 rr's will out perform either one of those especially the alphabet cams
i personaly like the tfs cam but with the 1.7rr that cam is like a 530 or 540 lift with those,.
is 530 540 to much. will the steeda work with 1.7rr

the steeda is design to work with 1.7's.......
k thanks it wont be to much lift

also will i have to go with bigger springs or will stock replacements be good
The Steeda cam/1.7 should work fine.
Forget stock replacements, stock springs are lousy to begin with. Put them on an aggressive cam and you're inviting valve float. You need to get performance springs that can handle the combination.

Keep in mind that MAX LIFT has nothing to do with Piston to Valve clearance.
ya i had a brain fart i forgot that the heads are complete lol

now the question is steeda 18 or tfs1 with 1.7 rr
G
steeda 18 w/1.7's
