1991 Mustang Misfire rough / no idle

Hi folks, I just picked up a 91 GT for a driver and am now having some issues with it. I managed to get the timing set ok I think but from idle to say 2K it stumbles about and can hear a misfire above 2K the problem seems to dissapear but i would say is a bit off as far as power goes. It idles rough all the time and when cold it will usually die until it warms up for a couple of mins I unplugged all vacuum lines and sprayed carb cleaner around the intake and injectors as best as i could no engine rpm changes also sprayed it around the egr /throttle plate no change. you can hear a misfire when idling and also under load / cruising. Another thing i noticed was when i was playing with the timing I revved up the engine to say 3500 or so and noticed some coolant poor out under the rad. cap it only did this once but though i might mention it. doesnt seem to run too hot from what i can tell and it has a new 3 row radiator (brass). Can anyone help me this is to be my daily driver and I havent even been able to drive it more than 2 miles. when it is warmed up and say you come to a light the engine rpm will decrease and hover around 1100-1200 and then drop back to say the 650 range. some details: 5.0L 1991 GT 5 speed manual transmission.

a big thank you for any help you can provide!!!!!!

I did perform the following:

new cap rotor
replaced pcv valve and grommet
new plug wires
adjusted timing to 10 deg. for now seems to bounce a bit due to the missfire
checked one of the plugs seemed ok bit of a light brownish / tan color to it

next: a match in the gas tank :so

Where i would start is by doing a compression check on the motor just so you can rule out any problems with that. If that turns out to be okay changing the spark plugs would be next in line. You usually wont see a bad plug by looking at them unless one has a crack in it. If coolant came out the top of the cap that indicates a problem. Might either be a bad cap or a head gasket burned into a coolant passage. Get a block tester and check for that just to be on the safe side.

First thing you should do is pull the codes. But my best guess for something simple to try would be to replace the ECT (Engine Coolant Temp sensor) and/or the ACT (Air Charge Temp sensor). Start by cleaning them if they look okay otherwise: 83-95 COOLANT TEMP SENSOR, 5.0L MUSTANG

and

84-93 AIR CHARGE TEMPERATURE SENSOR, 5.0L MISCFORD

p.s Also disonnect battery and open door to totally discharge to reset the computer before restarting the car.
